Historical Note: Dolores A. Turner was born September 16, 1929, Miami, Florida. She graduated from Talladega College, Talladega, Alabama, with a Bachelors in Sociology, taught for thirty- six (36) years for Dade County Public Schools, earned her Masters in Administration and Supervision from Florida Atlantic University and was appointed the first female and first black to be the Jury Commissioner of Dade county. She was active in politics and an equal rights activist. She passed in March of 1987.
