The collection consists of records donated by Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Miami Chapter to The Black Archives, documenting this civic organization's activities between 1964 and 2001. The records include chapter programs, alumni photographs, a roster of old and new members, a plaque, awards, correspondence, membership directories, newspaper articles, biennial meeting updates, member information, and 2 proclamations. Biographical Note

In 1962, Mrs. Geraldine Arrington and 15 mothers discussed a Miami organization of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. In 1964 the National President Mrs. Margeret Sims installed the Miami chapter. The chapter holds a life membership with NAACP, and has hosted AREA Mothers workshops, regional conferences, teen conferences and national conventions. The chapter has Grade groups and members such as Pee Wees, Explorers, JetSets and Txixteens/ teens.
