International Longshoremen’s Association, Local 1416

In 1936, the first International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) charter was established in South Florida to provide labor for the Miami Seaport. The Union office is the headquarters for longshore laborers who load and unoad ships from all over the world, including cruise ships.

New Providence Lodge

Built in 1947, New Providence Lodge #365 is the second oldest masonic temple in Miami-Dade County.

New Washington Heigts Community Development Conference

New Washington Heights Community Development Conference is a private, non-profit community based organization created in 1973. The main purpose of the organization is to guide, increase, implement, rehabilitate, revitalize and promote the economic development of the Culmer/Overtown Community.

Overtown Youth Center

The Overtown Youth Center, built by businessman Martin Marguilies with programming provided by the Alonzo Mourning Foundation, has as its goal to be an integral part of the community by delivering enrichment services that foster hope and promote life-long learning and success for Miami’s inner-city youth and citizens.
