Brief Description: This themed, composite collection documents personalities that have made a considerable contribution to the history of black South Florida.  Personalities range from prominent officials and celebrities to washer women and chauffeurs.  It consists of primary and secondary source material, including audio cassettes, autobiographies, pictures, programs, obituaries, certificates, awards, newspaper articles, correspondence, resumes and videos. While the collection contains material on hundreds of individuals, material on specific individuals may be limited to a single item of information.
