Brief Description: This collection consists of the Miami Beach ID Card of Ms. Annie Emanuel issued February 10, 1972, donated by her relative, Hennie Johnson in 2011. The Miami Beach ID Card was a card all Beach hotel, restaurant, nightclub and domestic workers were required to carry while in the city, most of which were ethnic minorities. The Miami Beach Police Department issued the card. In order to obtain the card it was necessary to be photographed and fingerprinted and to provide bloodwork. The card lists the card holder's ID number, name, place of employment, address, age, height, eye color, hair color, build, date issued, and the name of the issuer. Ms. Emanuel's card lists her employment as "Itinerant Maid."
